In 1860 Champagne France, Madamme Pommery was a teacher and an orphanage founder who lost her husband at forty and was forced to support her family. With no experience whatsoever she decides to make champagne. Her unique goal was to change the drink from a sweet beverage to a mild dry crisp wine that could be enjoyed anytime. When champagne makers refused to teach her their craft, she secretly began her own craftsmanship journey.

With war at the rage, her effort of creating a different wine was stalled. Meanwhile to support her own country coincidentally she provided shelter to French troops in the caves where she experimented with the taste of wine. Her service to the French army paved the way in support of a castle winery above the caves. Based on a true story, this book provides a vision for women entrepreneurs determined by their passion and who are destined to thrive. The book is full of hope and determination for success and provides support to never fold under pressure even if obstacles are thrown on the way. The way Rebecca merged the history of France in the 19th century with the art of wine-making makes this book a very enticing read.
